I haven't been posting a lot but I have been catching up with all my mail (after buying $40 worth of stamps) and attempting to maybe finish 365 Mail Art this year. I am currently in #60.

Here is some of the outgoing mail from the last month;

Last month I was also notified that I was in an art exhibit called "The Unexpected Art in Transit". It was in Florida but still really cool!

September was not a very good month for me but it's October now! I LOVE OCTOBER! I think EVERYONE loves October! I can't wait for the cool weather so I can wear sweaters and cozy things.

I have not worked/replied to any mail since late August I believe. I just felt like laying in bed all month, it sucked.  But things are changing now and I will not let that happen again! I have already started working on Halloween cards and replied to a few letters.

The only thing I have to show for last month is the two pieces I submitted for the Postmarked 2012 exhibit and silent auction. Yesterday was the opening night and I actually went (I wasn't sure if I wanted to go or now, i dont know why). It was amazing. I love mail art and I love that other people love it too and it all goes to a good cause.

Officially one week left until summer is over. This summer was definitely more laid back and I didn't really accomplish a lot but it still felt nice. no regrets.

I really did a lot of snail mail activities though and that was on my summer-to-do-list....wherever that may be.

There's been a lot of mail coming and going this past week though,

Incoming

box of buttons and postcard from Mary. I still haven't gotten over how awesome this was!

Thanks Miki for the package, I love the "Keep Calm and Draw On" card!

I wish I could hug every cat! :( lol

(yes that is a cat ear near the top of the photo)

close up description of the worry doll..

Outgoing mail,

These next two are #49 and #50 of Mail Art 365. I'll try posting more of them as I go making/sending them.

Can you guess why this is my favorite shirt???

I went to Claremont to see their annual 4th of July parade. It was actually really nice. I don't know why we have never gone, it's literally 5 minutes away from my house. They also have a firework show inside the college but it's not free to we went up to Mt. Baldy to see all the fireworks in the IE.

Having a holiday on a Wednesday really throws everyone off though. Today felt like Monday! At least it's Friday tomorrow.

Today I took out my mini sewing machine and made some envelopes. I hope the lace doesn't fall apart.

I have a small stack of mail I haven't replied to so I might just use my new envelopes on that.

I love waiting for the mail the day after a holiday, it's like twice as much mail!
All the postcards are from my momma-in-law, who went to go visit a friend in Arizona last week. She always sends me postcards when she goes on trips.

So last year I was really into signing up for free stuff and coupons. I haven't really done much of that lately but I am still receiving stuff. I ended up winning two contests this past week, I don't even remember signing up for them.
I won a fancy medicated lotion and lip moisturizer,

and nail polish,

I also finished my first embroidery this week! I want to keep making more.

Tomorrow is Postcard Day! A lot of people have been signing up, I am excited to pick a winner!

Does this count as the biggest postcard I have ever received? I think so! It's from Trick Sensei, a member of IUOMA I believe. He has motivated me to build my screen printing press....or should I say, motivated me to start pushing Tim to build it for me.

back side...

So on my I Love Snail Mail tumblr (http://ilovesnailmail.tumblr.com/) I started a weekly postcard giveaway. Each Friday I will pick someone to send a postcard to. Very simple, just sign up and I'll randomly choose someone.
Made a page on here just for that...(I've also added it on to my side panel)

I turned this stack ....

Into this...

I decided to use some of the Bonjour Mon Nom Est labels for my mail.  I am selling a pack of 5 labels here
I know I'll probably end up using them all in the end lol.

So today I received a Priority Box! My post man didn't think much of it since I always have weird things being delivered at my house.
Here's the link to this project:   http://www.fdlmstudio.com/PriorityBoxes.html

I think it was a pretty good mail day today, fun mail outgoing and incoming plus some great finds at the thrift store!

Yesterday my family and I scheduled a tour at Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex in Ft. Irwin. We ended up getting lost inside Ft. Irwin and being were an hour late to our tour. It was so embarrassing but we ended up getting a private tour in the end. I guess it's really interesting if you're into that kinda stuff, we just went because my brother enjoys it.

We got to go inside of it and in the tunnels.

Personally, I was more excited I caught this guy on camera...

Then we headed to Vegas since we were already half way there. It was 108' degrees so we stayed in the casinos. My brother and I found $10 in quarters!

So aside from my very short/spontaneous road trip, I have been really good at keeping up with my incoming and outgoing mail.
Today I received this from someone in Russia (was it from someone who reads this blog?). It was such a nice surprise. I love the leaf, it's hard to believe its autumn on the other side of the world right now.

My boyfriend's parents sent me so many postcards! Two are from Nevada, a Northern California one and two vintage ones from different areas here in California.

So even though I am still working very hard on my Mail Art 365 project, I am always interested in new projects. I have come across this amazing mail project called Dear Teacher
It is like postsecret but with a twist! It is " an ongoing mail art project offering people the opportunity to express feelings which often go unsaid between students and their teachers"

They also have a tumblr!

Outgoing mail for this week which includes #34 /365 (Piece of my art)

I also wanted to show off this piece that I receive today from a folllower on tumblr. It's so amazing! It's like a postcard AND a letter at the same time! Very creative.

Some of the mail art I have been creating this week (mod podge does not reflect so well)
